Musa, a film about the complexity of inter-tribal marriages in Cameroon

Musa, a film about the complexity of inter-tribal marriages in Cameroon

Musa movie

The emotion is really at the rendezvous when we look at the first images of the movie Musa.
The story takes place in a rural environment where two communities live together somewhere in a region of Cameroon. While these have always lived peacefully, a fact not at least trivial will upset this social cohesion. Indeed, a young Bororo shepherd will fall in love with the king's daughter. A relationship that will not be well received by the respective families of lovers, who will continue their idyll in secret.

In the context of Cameroon where the issue of marriage between communities is still a real problem, this film poses a real debate on tribalism in Cameroon. The film bears the signature of Cameroonian director Musing Derick. Originally from Buea, this film enthusiast has made social facts an inspiration for his productions in order to draw public attention to certain issues.

He is not in his first film of this kind. He directed Tenacity, a film that staged a tribal conflict during the pre-colonial period in Bamileke country, then Kiss of Death, a fiction on the issue of forced marriage. Achievements that have been hailed by critics. While waiting to see the entirety of this new film coming out soon, already appreciate these first images.
