Hijacking and Kidnapped: The Ambazonian Government React to this

Hijackings in Lebialem: Official reaction of Ambazonia

Chris Anu, Ambazonia Communication Secretary

The weekend of June 16 to 17 was dense for Cameroonian armed forces. They were at the time of two kidnappings including those of Prof Ivo Leke, chairman of the GCE board in Lebialem and thirty students and two Tunisians and other Cameroonians Mbongue with the additional demand for a ransom by millions of francs.

The Ambazonia in the person of Chris Anu, Secretary of Communication has denied in a statement the involvement of the interim government in this operation. He did not recognize the armed group that orchestrated the kidnapping of Professor Tambo on March 17 and who will be released two days later after the State of Cameroon paid 20 million FCFA.

This group which calls itself Ambazonian would also be behind the kidnapping last March 15 of two Tunisians, one of whom will give up the spirit during the clashes between the Cameroonian army and the ghost individuals against the payment of 50 million dollars.

The interim government that created the Ambazonia Self Defense Council condemns these acts of kidnapping and ransoming people in recent days and declares that it no longer recognizes such acts that do not serve the separatist cause. He signs that only those who will do so will be responsible for their actions.

But where does this defense group come from since the interim government of Ambazonia has claimed not to be part of it? According to many observers, these kidnappings may well be orchestrated by the Biya regime to discredit Ambazonia or in another way this statement by Chris Anu is only one way for Ambazonia to avoid any responsibility in the kidnapping and the death of the Tunisians.
