Paul Biya stadium: explosion of a truck carrying prefabricated elements

In view of the arrival of the first CAF inspection mission in Yaoundé, it is under pressure that the government is accelerating the construction of the Olembé stadium and other infrastructure to house the 2019 CAN football Cameroon.
From the port of Douala Thursday 04 January 2018 to the construction site of the Paul Biya stadium in Olembé, a suburban area at the northern entrance of the city of Yaoundé, trucks carrying prefabricated elements for the construction of the Paul Biya stadium in Olembé, have not all arrived at their destination.
The cabin of one of the semi-trailer trucks exploded during the crossing of the political capital city, precisely in front of the Yaounde Air Base 101. "I heard a loud bang that made everyone panic. The fire that followed, burned the entire front of the truck. The helpers managed to extinguish the fire. That's how we saved the rest of the heavy weight, "a witness told Cameroon-info.net.

Another truck was chartered to deliver to the site of the site of the future stadium Olembe, the cargo of equipment that transported the truck burned. The second vessel containing these prefabricated elements arrived at the Port of Douala on Wednesday 03 January 2018 from Italy.
The modern Paul Biya stadium in the Olembé district, with a capacity of 60,000 seats, is one of the new sports facilities under construction to house matches of the 2019 CAN.
CAN 2019 construction or infrastructure development work is very late. After a missed meeting last year, CAF's first inspection mission arrives in Yaoundé next week. At the end of this mission, the CAF will decide whether to maintain or not the organization of the final phase of CAN 2019 in Cameroon.
