Beti Assomo in Buea for the tribute to the killed soldiers

Tribute to the murdered soldiers

This is one of the joints of the descent that Joseph Beti Assomo has been doing since December 7, 2017 in the Littoral and Southwest regions. 

Defense Minister Joseph Beti Assomo organized Thursday, December 7, a special security meeting in the city of Douala. It brought together senior officers of the defense forces, the director general of the National Security, and the governor of the Littoral region. The crisis situation in the English-speaking area, would have been strongly evoked. 

This meeting is one of the stages of Joseph Beti Assomo's working visit to the Littoral and the South-West. Before this reunion, the Minister of Defense went to the military hospital of Douala where are treated soldiers wounded in the clashes against armed individuals in English-speaking area. 

He conveyed to them the message of comfort of the President of the Republic, before talking with the head doctor of this health facility, to inquire about the condition of each soldier. He promised that everything needed will be done to restore their health and return to the ranks as soon as possible. This Friday, December 8, Josep Beti Assomo is in Buea.

Mindef is currently chairing the ceremony to lift four military and two police officers, murdered by "terrorists" respectively on the night of Tuesday 28 to Wednesday, November 29, 2017 in Agborkem German, and that of the Wednesday 29 to Thursday 30 at Otu, Manyu Department, Southwest Region. 

In a statement, Mindef informs that these dead elements will receive the honors reserved for elements of the defense and security forces fallen on the battlefield. The ceremony will be held in place of the Munya festivities, in the presence of the Delegate General for National Security, Martin Mbarga Nguélé.
