War Ambazonia: chronology of the last attacks

Issa Tchiroma Bakary exposed the latest events in the English-speaking regions

At a press briefing on Friday, 8 December 2017, Minister of Communication Issa Tchiroma Bakary presented the latest developments in the English-speaking regions, involving security forces and secessionist attackers. 

On December 5, 2017, members of the Defense Forces of the 22nd Motorized Infantry Battalion, Nsanakang, Mamfe, repelled an attack on the Battalion post led by some 20 heavily armed assailants who had come in a dugout motorized. In their response, the Defense Forces neutralized several assailants and routed the rest of the band. 

On the night of December 5 to 6, 2017, three individuals who had attempted to murder gendarmes on duty at the Bombé-Bakundu weighing station near the town of Kumba were mastered as they tried to flee their homes. to the response of the Defense Forces. 

On 7 November 2017, the perpetrators of the assassination of soldier YAYA Emmanuel who was cruelly slaughtered by a squad of terrorists on the night of 9 to 10 November 2017, while guarding a bridge connecting Cameroon to neighboring Nigeria in the vicinity of Akwem not far from the town of Mamfe, were apprehended, arrested and their weapons - weapons of war - seized.

On the night of December 7 to 8, 2017, five terrorists were shot dead by the Defense Forces in response to an attack by nearly 200 attackers on the Mamfe Police Station. The terrorists killed on this occasion are: TAKO Prosper ARREY, ANYONG Patrick ABONG, DISENGI Kendry. The two other dead attackers have not been identified yet. Unfortunately, there is a death among the Defense Forces who fell during the clashes. This is Constable KELLY Hervé on duty at the Mamfe Gendarmerie Territorial Brigade. 

Ten other Defense Forces personnel were wounded in the same clashes. They are: Lieutenant CHAIBOU; Master Corporal EDENGUE EKASSI; Gendarmes-majors MOULIOM MANONI, BIWOLE BIWOLE, MOHAMIDI Armand and KOUG René Serge; Gendarmes MPENG Harris and MOTCHAM Arnaud; the students-gendarmes TSAGNI SIGNING and NTCHAN KOUNI Louis. 

The Head of State addresses the family of Constable KELLY Hervé fell on the field of honor, his most saddened condolences and associates most intimately with the pain she feels at this sad moment. To members of the Defense Forces wounded during the fighting, the President of the Republic wishes a speedy recovery. 

According to the Minister of Communication, more than ten young people heading for Nigeria to be enlisted by terrorist gangs were arrested in the village AGDORKOR, near the border. A short time later, an individual named AYUK NKEN Franklin, recruiting agent of the armed wing of the secessionists was arrested in the locality of Bachuo Akagde near Mamfe.
