While the sentence of his trial was given at the hearing from May 17 to 18, 2016, the minutes of the trial, on the other hand, mention a sanction taken on 3 May of the same year. 

On the night of May 17-18, 2016, the Supreme Court Section sentenced Marafa Hamidou Yaya to 20 years' imprisonment. But in the relevant judgment available only in February 2017, nine months later, it can readily be read as follows: "Thus decided by the specialized section of the Supreme Court in its ordinary public hearing of the third day of May two thousand and sixteen in the courtroom Hearings of the Court ".
